Many Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by @NUFC360 in which they relayed a report from ChronicleLive which claims that the Toon are considering a loan move for Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams in January.
Williams broke into Manchester United’s first-team last season, making 36 senior appearances for the Red Devils during the 2019/20 campaign, however, he has been used sparingly by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this term, with the £9.9m-rated man making just four appearances for Manchester United so far this season, ahead of their meeting with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
In ChronicleLive’s report, it is claimed that the 20-year-old, who can play at left-back, right-back or as a wing-back, would only be available on a straight loan deal, with the Red Devils said to view him ‘as a genuine star of the future,’ while it is also claimed that the Toon could face competition from their Premier League rivals Southampton for the England U21.
So, how did these Newcastle United fans react to this report linking them with Brandon Williams?

Plenty of the Newcastle fans who replied to this tweet responded negatively to it, indicating that they wouldn’t like to see the Manchester United man on loan at St. James’ Park.
No, please god, no https://t.co/TArfuhBsNl

Rather have an empty pair of boots at left back
— Shelvatron (@shelvatron) December 2, 2020
Not for me, he hasn’t looked great for Man Utd and we already have better at the club.

We have 3 left backs, why do we need another? All 3 left backs can play there to a good standard

Some Toon supporters shared that they would prefer to see Jetro Willems, who spent the 2019/20 season on loan at the North East club, return to Newcastle instead.
This isn’t Jetro
— Mark ???? (@MarkMazzocchi) December 2, 2020
Hell no I’d rather go for my man Jetro
— Goelinton (@Goelinton) December 2, 2020
However, not all of the replies to this post were negative as some Toon fans shared that they would be open to Williams joining their club.
Yeah I’d take

Would you like to see Williams on loan at Newcastle?
YES
NO
All in all, it certainly seems as if the majority of Newcastle supporters would like to see their club steer clear of Williams judging by the replies to this tweet, although not all Toon fans would be disappointed.
