Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been sharing their criticism for Toon attacker Miguel Almiron and his cameo appearance in the Tyneside club’s recent 0-0 draw against Liverpool.

After previously losing 2-0 away against Manchester City, Steve Bruce’s side took on the Merseyside club at St. James’ Park to try and end 2020 with a win.

Easy one to get us underway, in what month during 2019 was Steve Bruce appointed Newcastle manager?

During the second half of the match, Almiron was brought on as a substitute replacing Jacob Murphy. Despite only playing over 20 minutes of action against Jurgen Klopp’s side, many Toon fans took the time to share their thoughts on the 26-year-old’s contribution to the stalemate.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say about Miguel Almiron’s performance against Liverpool?

Without trying to be negative as that was a sterling performance, Almiron is just terrible. The amount of times he had the ball in the last 15 and did absolutely nothing with it. Murphy Fraser Joe and Asm miles ahead of him. #NUFC”

@StephenGlasss

“Hope we sell Almiron in January absolute garbage”

@BellshillRag2kg

“The more I watch the less I rate Almiron. Works hard but what?”

@MartinJS27

“Someone tell Almiron that he can go forward”

@CianMcGivern

“Nee wonder almiron doesn’t get game time, he’s horrendous.”

@FranciaHeslop_

“ASM is our spark of creativity we so desperately miss but we rely on him far too much Murphy/Fraser/joelinton/almiron/Ritchie all need to be far better for me as Wilson can’t do it all alone”

@Fosterr26

Looking at these tweets from this group of Newcastle fans, it’s apparent that they were not impressed by what Almiron had to offer from the bench against Liverpool.

Is Miguel Almiron good enough to play for Newcastle?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Given how the attacker only managed to pick up a passing accuracy percentage of 55.6% and a match rating of 6.31/10 for his performance, it’s clear that he didn’t have much of an impact when he came on in the second half.
