A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from Lee Ryder that has relayed news from the Premier League that it has agreed a new broadcast deal with beIN Sports.
The Premier League has agreed a new deal with beIN to broadcast coverage of England’s top flight in the MENA region until 2025.
This follows on from beIN’s involvement in the failed takeover of the Toon by PCP Capital Partners, PIF and the Reuben brothers that was withdrawn in July.
Prior to this announcement, concerns over piracy from Saudi Arabia plagued the deal, before beIN was blocked in the country.
This drew the attention of these furious Toon fans, as they believe the Premier League’s rejection of their proposed takeover involving the Saudi-based consortium PIF was connected to a feud between the Saudi state and Qatari broadcaster beIN, following claims of an alleged breach of piracy law by the Saudi state in relation to the illegal broadcasting of major sporting events via broadcaster beoutQ. Saudi Arabia denied it was behind the operation.
What did these Newcastle fans think of this news regarding the Premier League and beIN Sports?
Aye, its all coming out now, no wonder they stopped takeover.

And this is why the takeover was blocked

Corruption at the highest level!!! Yet they simply get away with it probably because the government are no better ????

Another example of the blatant hypocrisy regarding corruption. #PremierLeagueIsCorrupt.

Do you think this will impact the takeover?
Yes, this will cause problems
No, it will be fine
The takeover is now with the legal teams, but Martyn Ziegler and Rod Draper think that this is now the end of the proposed takeover.
Many Toon fans seem to agree with them.
Atleast we now know where we stand with the arbitration… never was happening

So no Saudi take over now then

Is part of the deal to block any Saudi led takeover? I’d wager that it is

It is unclear what this does mean for the proposed takeover, and we will have to see what happens with the legal challenge to see if this will have any influence on the takeover.
