Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest injury news concerning their team.

Easy one to get us underway, in what month during 2019 was Steve Bruce appointed Newcastle manager?

During the press conference, Bruce revealed that Toon defender Jamaal Lascelles is “making inroads into joining in with the team”, but winger Allan Saint-Maximin is “still weeks away”.

Bruce also added that Callum Wilson missed Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat away against Manchester City because he had a knock in his ankle, but Bruce remains “hopeful” that the striker will be “raring to go” against Liverpool.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans who were not shy in sharing their responses to this latest injury update from Bruce.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say about this latest injury news from Steve Bruce?

Some Toon fans decided to take their frustrations out on Bruce.

As vague as usual then, Bruce. Champion

@benledune

“Not even remotely interested in what this man has to say he is hiding behind injuries he is a disgrace and so is the owner”

@MajorManor

Other Newcastle fans responded to the post with their thoughts on the Saint-Maximin situation.

“Mate this maximin situation is something else”

@benjukes99

@asaintmaximin is off in the Jan window isn’t he? He’s saying he’s fine on IG and appears to be having a cracking festive break. Club says he is injured. We’ve seen this before. #ByeMaxi

@thewharrier

“Saint-Maximin is still weeks away …” The “From leaving us and joining a proper football club with a decent manager” is strongly implied. If he’s here in February, I’ll be amazed. No coincidence he’s not played since he fell out with Bruce and claimed injury. #nufc

@LawesDisorder

“no creativity or anyone linking the midfield to the attack without maxi”

@KieronBrownn

Do you think Saint-Maximin could leave Newcastle in January?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Saint-Maximin has not played for Newcastle in the league since November and has been out with a calf injury whilst also recovering having been struck down by the viral infection that swept through the camp a few weeks ago.

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that the majority of these Toon fans are getting quite concerned by Saint-Maximin’s prolonged absence from the squad.

With the winger ending the 2019/20 Premier League season as the club’s highest-rated player, it’s understandable why these Newcastle fans would want to see the winger back in action on the pitch as soon as possible.
