A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from Keith Downie that contains an update on the current situation at Newcastle’s training ground after a viral outbreak forced them to close the premises and postpone their game against Aston Villa.
However, Downie claims that the Toon have returned to the training ground in small groups and that those who tested positive have served their period of isolation.
Despite this, though, it is still unclear if Newcastle’s match with West Bromwich Albion will go ahead, with Downie claiming it is not known whether the Magpies have asked for the match to be postponed.
This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans who have had their say.
So, what did these Toon fans think of this update?
It should go ahead surely? Back in training out of isolation. No need to be cancelled ? #NUFC #nufc

Do you think the game should go ahead?
Yes, if it is safe
No, we should postpone this one as well
Newcastle were forced to abandon the game against Villa over fears they could not prepare safely, and the Premier League agreed and postponed the game.
However, with the training ground now open and players back, there must be some hope that the match against the Baggies can take place.
This post continued to draw in Newcastle fans.
If the players have self isolated and are now back they have plenty time to get ready for the game so it shouldn’t be cancelled. We need to play them now.

surely they won’t have to postpone the game again? we must have 4 or 5 of those who tested positive back already and more in the next few days

It will be interesting to see if it is safe enough for that game at St. James’ Park to take place, but this is a positive step forward, and hopefully, Newcastle can play West Brom on Saturday.
