Fans of Leeds United have been reacting on Twitter to Anthony Taylor’s appointment for the Manchester United fixture this coming weekend.
The Premier League confirmed that Taylor will take charge of the fixture alongside assistants Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn and fourth official Chris Kavanagh, with VAR being overseen by Simon Beck.
One Leeds fan took to Twitter to comment on the appointments, suggesting that the club do not ‘have the best memories of the Wythenshawe-based ref’, criticising the 42-year-old’s performance in the Whites’ FA Cup clash with Arsenal in January, as well as noting that he sent Gaetano Berardi off in the play-off semi-final against Derby County at the end of the 2018/19 season and disallowing a Liam Cooper goal against Sheffield Wednesday back in 2016 due to an incomplete substitution.
So, what did these Leeds United fans have to say about the appointment of Anthony Taylor for the club’s fixture with Manchester United?

In his career as a referee, Taylor has overseen 13 matches of Leeds, of which the club have won five, drawn three and lost five, with the official dishing out 28 yellow cards to players of Leeds, four of which have turned into a red upon a second booking, and no straight red cards.
Do you think Anthony Taylor should be allowed to officiate the Man United game?
Yes
No
In comparison, Taylor has officiated 32 Manchester United games, of which they have won 23, drawn one and lost eight, with the official giving United players 58 yellow cards as well as one straight red card.
@premierleague Are you lot not even trying to cover up the bias now….there is no way Taylor ahould be officiating any Manchester game

All in all, it would appear that the vast majority of these Leeds fans are not happy about the appointment of Taylor for their fixture with United this Sunday, with some stating that the decision to appoint the referee for the fixture is a joke, while others claimed that the ref is a Manchester United fan.
