Leeds United fans on Twitter have been sharing their thoughts on the potential team selection for their club’s Premier League clash against Burnley.
This comes after Leeds United Live shared a post asking their followers who they think should start the game in defence against Sean Dyche’s team out of Pascal Struijk or Diego Llorente, due to the absence of Liam Cooper and Robin Koch through injury.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on the matter.
So, what did these Leeds fans have to say?
One Leeds fan suggested Struijk should start the game at Elland Road.
“They both need more play time, both potentially great players. We need height at the back to negate Woods I’d put Pascal in.”
Others suggested it should be Llorente that starts in defence instead.
“Struijk has a timing problem in the art of tackling so llorente for me”
“Llorente all day long. Struijk is a fringe player for a reason. He’s not that good. Loses possession too easily, his positioning is poor and his tackling is agricultural at times. A liability.
Whereas, some other Leeds fans suggested that both Struijk and Llorente should start the game.
“Both, Ayling and Dallas full backs”
“both. and put ayling and dallas back to rb/lb”
“Both.”
“Both, but Struijk will play either way that’s for sure”
Looking at the replies to this tweet from Leeds United Live from this group of Whites fans, it’s apparent that the decision on whether to start Struijk or Llorente in defence against Burnley is not a straightforward one.
Who would you pick to play in defence against Burnley?
Diego Llorente
Pascal Struijk
Both
With Leeds Live calling Burnley’s strike duo of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes “two of the Premier League’s toughest forwards,” whoever Marcelo Bielsa picks to play in defence will have to be at the top of their game to try not to concede any goals, as the club have already conceded 30 goals in the league, more than any other team in the top-flight.
