Leeds United podcaster Gerry McNamee has been sharing his praise for Whites full-back Ezgjan Alioski and his performance in the Yorkshire club’s recent 5-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

This comes after McNamee recently made an appearance on the latest video from Leeds-themed YouTube channel LS11 where he reflected on the win over Sam Allardyce’s side.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

On the topic of Alioski, who scored Leeds’ second goal of the game, McNamee had this to say on the defender.

He said: “We talked about Alioski before, we were never even sure if he is a Championship player, doubt he’d make it in the Premier League and he’s putting in a shift for us you know, some games [he’s] not brilliant but [against West Brom] he deserved that man of the match [award] because he worked his socks off, he really did and I was delighted he got the goal.”

Leeds signed the 28-year-old back in the 2017 summer transfer window from FC Lugano for a fee of £2.25 million. Since arriving at Elland Road, the defender, who is currently valued at £3.6 million, has made 148 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in which he has managed to score 22 goals and provide 16 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Gerry McNamee’s comments on Alioski…

Taking into account how Alioski managed to grab himself a goal against West Brom and earn himself an impressive match rating of 8.49/10 for his performance, making him the second-highest rated Leeds player on the day, it’s understandable why McNamee has been sharing this praise for the defender.

Do you think Alioski was Leeds' best player against West Brom?

If Alioski can continue putting in this type of performance for Leeds in every game throughout the remainder of their league campaign, he could be considered as one of their most important players by the end of the season.
