Patrick Bamford has been speaking on the latest edition of The Athletic’s The Ornstein & Chapman Podcast about all things Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa.
One of the questions that the Leeds man was asked about was the preparation that goes into every game and what he has to do to help him before each match.
While he was talking about this, he revealed that he has been watching videos of Erling Haaland in recent weeks.
He said: “Two weeks ago I had probably two or three videos sent every day of Erling Haaland.
“15-minute videos, so I had to watch them and just see what I can pick out from him.
“It’s all a process to try and help you learn.”
Do you like Bamford doing this?
Yes, he might pick up some tips
No, he doesn't need to
TIF Thoughts on Bamford watching these videos…
Bamford probably could not have picked a striker in better form than Haaland, as since he joined Borussia Dortmund in January this year, he has scored a staggering 33 goals in just 32 appearances for the Bundesliga club.
The 20-year-old Norwegian international is a lethal goalscorer, and if Bamford is going to learn anything from any other striker, then we feel Haaland, who is valued at £90 million (as per Transfermarkt), is a good choice.
And perhaps Bamford has picked something up as he has scored eight goals in the Premier League this season, meaning that he is only behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jamie Vardy, Mohamed Salah and Heung-min Son in the goalscoring charts.
So, he has had a great start to the season, and if watching videos of Haaland has helped him, then we hope he continues to watch them as the season goes on.
