Graham Smyth has been speaking on the latest edition of the Inside Elland Road podcast with Joe Urquhart about all things relating to Leeds United.

Starting with an easy one what shirt number does Bamford wear for Leeds United?

One of the topics that came up right at the end was any potential transfer plans from the Whites.

Leeds spent just under £100m in the last transfer window, and it is also claimed that Victor Orta does not really like doing business in January, so perhaps Leeds fans can expect a quiet month on the transfer front.

Certainly, that is what Smyth thinks.

He said: “I honestly, at this stage, can only see necessity sending Leeds to the market.

“I just can’t see a scenario where they go and spend a lot of money.

“We all know what Orta thinks about the January window; we certainly know what Bielsa thinks about the January window.

“If the injury situation is similar to what it is now, I don’t see it.

“I think Bielsa feels he has enough cover and options.”

Do you think Leeds will be active in the transfer market?

TIF Thoughts on Leeds’ potential January plans and Smyth’s view of them…

The Whites did spend a lot of money in the last transfer window, and they strengthened many positions in their squad, and given that they are eight points clear of the relegation zone, they might feel that spending in January is unnecessary.

Certainly, Smyth can’t see Leeds making any moves in the upcoming transfer window unless they perhaps suffer injuries to some key players.

One player who the Whites struggled without while he was injured was Kalvin Phillips, so you would think that Leeds would have to find a replacement for him if he were to pick up an injury.

However, judging by their spending in the last window and then their current league position, we don’t feel as if the Whites need to make any moves in January unless something drastically changes.
