A lot of Leeds United fans have been responding to a tweet that was recently posted by The Athletic’s Phil Hay, in which he discussed the fitness of the Whites’ captain Liam Cooper, who left the pitch ‘limping heavily’ in the 72nd minute of Leeds’ 6-2 loss to Manchester United at the weekend.
The £6.3m-rated centre-back scored one of Leeds’ two goals in this game before his premature departure from the pitch. Cooper had played the full 90 minutes in every league game he’d started this season before he was taken off early in Sunday’s game at Old Trafford.
In his tweet, Hay revealed that he’s unable to provide an update on Cooper’s status at present and the journalist’s post sharing that he’s yet to hear details on the extent of Cooper’s injury got plenty of Leeds fans talking about the Scotland international.
So, how did these Leeds United fans react to Hay’s tweet on Cooper?
still to hear details of Cooper’s injury but Llorente due back in training this week, Bielsa said. #lufc

Plenty of Leeds fans were critical of their captain in response to Hay’s tweet, with some questioning his quality. Meanwhile, one particular Whites supporter shared that they think their club needs to sign a centre-back on loan in January.
Need to look past Coops

Don’t think we’ll miss Cooper – a walking goal against.

Moving on I would like to see Llorente and Struik given a go we know all about Koch and Cooper

100% agree . Very overrated . Great captain off the pitch but has no idea how to lead us on it . So many times when we’ve fallen behind he doesn’t lead by example . Always looks like he loses his head , one challenge away from a red card .

Has Cooper played well this season for Leeds?

Do you think we’ll go into the loan market for a CB Phil? To risky not to IMO

All in all, it certainly seems as though Cooper hasn’t exactly managed to set the world alight this season in the view of many Leeds United fans, judging by these replies to this tweet.
