Leeds United picked up a much-needed three points on Sunday afternoon, as they beat Burnley 1-0 at Elland Road.
Patrick Bamford scored the only goal of the match, as he fired home from the penalty spot after just five minutes, after being brought down the forward.
The win means that Leeds are now sat 12th in the Premier League table after 15 matches, having accumulated 20 points as we near the halfway point in the season.
Cooper has made 11 appearances for Leeds this season, but could face competition for his place back in the starting XI, after the strong performance from youngster Pascal Struijk.
Struijk won seven out of the ten duels he was faced with on the day against Burnley.
Plenty of the Elland Road faithful took to social media to call for Cooper to return from injury sooner rather than later ahead of the New Year.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below…
“Please come back king I don’t want that again.”
“You and Struijk for defensive partnership Liam? With Koch and Llorente to come back we will only get better defensively still!”
“Need you back lad.”
“Excellent stuff skipper, hope your back soon.”
“Well said captain just wish some of our fans realised we are still finding our feet but we have come so far in a short time.”
“Strong performance Liam – hope your recovery is going well.”
“Hope you get healed up quickly.”
It would surely be a big call for Bielsa to drop his captain who has played in all but four of Leeds’ top-flight games this season to date, so it seems that these Leeds fans will get their wish once he is available for selection again.
