Plenty of Leeds United fans have voice their frustrations at Paul Merson’s recent criticism of Marcelo Bielsa’s side, after a recent slump in results.

The Whites were beaten 2-1 by West Ham United in their last match, with their defending from set-pieces causing them to drop vital points in the early stages of this year’s campaign.

Sky Sports pundit, and former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson felt as though Leeds could have conceded ‘six or seven’ if West Ham had Michail Antonio available for selection.

Merson went on to question how long Kalvin Phillips will remain at Leeds United for, with the midfielder catching the eye with a number of strong performances for the Yorkshire-based side.

Phillips has made 190 appearances in total for the Leeds United first-team, and was recently rewarded for his efforts with a call-up to the England senior team, where he went on to make his debut earlier this year.

He had previously been linked with a move to Manchester United whilst Leeds were playing their football in the Championship, but he has since signed a new contract with Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

Take a look at how these Leeds United fans reacted to Merson’s recent comments on Leeds, with plenty of the responses not being best-pleased with his evaluation of their side.

It’s clear to see from the responses above that Leeds fans are far from pleased with Merson’s comments, with a few claiming that Sky Sports pundits are negative towards the Whites.
