Speaking recently on the Ask Ornstein YouTube show, David Ornstein stated his belief that Aston Villa could sell Jack Grealish next summer, as long as the price is right.

Making his debut for Villa as an 18-year-old back in 2014, Grealish has gone on to feature 196 times for the club, scoring 31 goals and providing 37 assists along the way.

First up in this Gareth Barry quiz, which club did Villa sign the midfielder from?

Last season, the £40.5 million-rated 25-year-old was influential in Dean Smith’s side’s narrow Premier League survival, scoring eight goals and providing six assists over his 36 league appearances, averaging a highly impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.23 – ranking him as the club’s best player in the top flight by quite a considerable distance.

The England international has continued his excellent form for the club this season too, having already bagged five goals and five assists over his nine Premier League fixtures, averaging a quite remarkable WhoScored match rating of 8.11 – not only ranking him as Villa’s best player in the league but also as the best player in the entire division.

However, speaking on a recent episode of the Ask Ornstein YouTube show, the titular journalist claimed that he feels Grealish could be one of the big transfers of next summer’s window, as, in his opinion, Villa would sell the midfielder if they received the right offer.

He said: “I’m quite interested in this situation because despite his new contract at Aston Villa, I think if the right money and offer came in for Aston Villa and for him from a Champions League club, then there could possibly be a deal to be done.

“We’ve talked about the interest from Manchester City, we’ve seen all the links to Manchester United, so let’s see how that develops.”

TIF Thoughts on David Ornstein’s comments regarding Jack Grealish’s potential transfer…

From Ornstein’s comments, it is clear that the journalist is of the belief that, should Villa receive a respectable offer from a side that could offer Grealish Champions League football, the 25-year-old could well depart Villa Park next summer.

And, in our opinion, with the greatest respect to Aston Villa, Grealish’s statistics over this and last season have shown that he possesses the quality to perform for just about any side in the top flight, and it could well be time for him to make the step up to a team with loftier ambitions than Dean Smith’s side.
