Football journalist David Ornstein has been sharing some insight into what has been going on and being said behind the scenes at Arsenal.

This comes after Ornstein recently co-hosted the latest episode of The Athletic’s Ornstein & Chapman Podcast where he spoke about the latest news stories concerning the Premier League at this moment in time.

In what month did Mikel Arteta take over as the Arsenal boss?

On the topic of Arsenal and the current situation behind the scenes at the north London club, Ornstein had this to say on the matter. (14.18)

He said: “From people inside, I hear that there needs to be [a] cultural change, they need to get out of this comfort zone.

“They need to change the mindset and push each other in a way that hasn’t been happening for a number of years now and that doesn’t just happen overnight, that is going to take time and is going to need patience.”

Do you think there needs to be a cultural change at Arsenal?

So far this season, Arsenal have won just four out of their 12 played Premier League games, drawing one and losing seven.

Their previous league fixture saw them lose 1-0 at home to Burnley thanks to an own goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, leaving them in 15th place in the table.

TIF Thoughts on David Ornstein’s comments on Arsenal…

Given how Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said that he planned to change the culture at the club when he was appointed back in December last year, it seems that he now needs more time to do so going off what Ornstein had to say in the podcast.

In our view, Arteta will need to now work on getting his team to secure some positive results in the league so they don’t end up in a relegation battle heading into the new year.
