Arsenal journalist Charles Watts has been shedding some light on the injury picked up by Bukayo Saka during the north London club’s recent 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

This comes after Watts recently uploaded a video onto his YouTube channel where he discussed a variety of topics concerning Mikel Arteta’s side.

In what month did Mikel Arteta take over as the Arsenal boss?

On the topic of Saka, who limped off the pitch against Brighton in the second half, Watts had this to say on the matter.

He said: “He obviously limped off [against Brighton], took a nasty whack towards the end of the game but doesn’t look too bad on Bukayo.

“Mikel Arteta saying afterwards he was limping, he took a strong challenge, but hopefully he will be okay. I watched Saka leave the stadium last night and he wasn’t limping too badly at all so it doesn’t look like that’s going to be anything particularly bad for Saka and hopefully, he will not be out of action for too long at all and hopefully, he’ll be fit to play at the weekend when Arsenal will travel to West Brom.”

As a product of Arsenal’s youth academy, Saka made his senior debut for the Gunners back in November 2018 under former Arsenal manager Unai Emery.

Since then, the 19-year-old, who is currently valued at £36 million, has made 61 appearances for the club in which he has managed to score six goals and provide 14 assists along the way.

TIF Thoughts on Charles Watts’ comments on Saka…

Given how Saka has been Arsenal’s joint highest-rated player in the league so far this season with a season rating of 6.81/10 for his performances, it will be reassuring for the Arsenal fans to hear from Watts and Arteta that the Englishman’s injury will hopefully not keep him out of action for a long period of time.
