Many Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to criticise Nir Bitton’s performance in the Hoops’ 2-2 draw with Hibernian on Saturday.

The £1.08m-rated man is classed as a defensive midfielder by Transfermarkt, which may be understandable given that this is where he’s played the majority of the time throughout his career, however, he’s mainly been played at centre-back by the Hoops this term and that is where he started Saturday’s game alongside Kristoffer Ajer.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

Bitton was said to have been (16:18) ‘sleeping’ for the move that resulted in Kevin Nisbet scoring Hibs’ second goal of the game in the 59th minute and Celtic-focused website 67 Hail Hail, who gave the Israel international a match rating of five for this game, stated that Bitton ‘will be disappointed in his performance’ at Easter Road.

So, what did these Celtic fans make of Bitton’s performance versus Hibs?

Plenty of Hoops supporters slammed the 29-year-old for his performance in Saturday’s game.

Meanwhile, other fans of the Glasgow club aired some frustration over how Bitton was used versus Hibernian, with those Celtic supporters declaring that they don’t think Bitton is suited to the centre-back position.
