Many Celtic fans flocked to social media during their UEFA Europa League tie versus Sparta Prague to slam Scott Brown’s performance.
The 35-year old, a ten time Scottish champion with the Hoops started the game in the midfield alongside Callum McGregor as Celtic looked to avenge the home defeat they suffered at the hands of the Czech side in the last round of European fixtures. However, things didn’t go to plan as Neil Lennon’s side were on the receiving end of a 4-1 hammering.
What did these Celtic supporters make of Scott Brown’s display in Prague?
Hate saying it but Scott brown is done at our level, an absolute passenger in this half ???

Starting to think Lennon wants the sack. Only logical reason for persisting in playing Scott Brown. He’s miles aff it and has been for a while.

Convinced the first lockdown in March finished Scott Brown’s career. Lack of game time and now his legs are gone.

It’s clear from the above responses that many of these Celtic supporters feel as though Brown is no longer capable of playing regularly at the highest level. To date, the player has made close to 600 appearances for the Bhoys, contributing 45 goals and providing his teammates with 60 assists (as per Transfermarkt).
Ahead of tonight’s Europa League fixture, the player’s average performance rating in the competition this season stood at an underwhelming 6.35/10 (via WhoScored) and so you can understand why with these fans, the frustration around his displays appears to have now boiled over.
