Many Celtic fans have been fuming at Ryan Christie after an audio clip of the Scotsman caught their attention on social media.
Christie was recently involved in Celtic’s 2-0 loss to Ross County in the second round of the Scottish League Cup.
Goals from Ross Stewart and Alex Iacovitti knocked the Hoops out of the competition and ended a run of 35 cup wins for the Bhoys (as per BBC Sport).

Following the game, Superscoreboard relayed an audio clip of Christie talking about the loss. He said that every player on the pitch was “desperate” to help Celtic win the game and they care about the club.
He also said that it is “frustrating” when people feel that the players aren’t giving their all for Celtic.

Christie was linked with a move to Burnley in the summer transfer window and it was reported that talks were ongoing to hand him a new deal at Parkhead (As per the Daily Record). His current deal at the club runs out in the summer of 2022.
Having said that, Christie has contributed to eight goals in 12 Premiership games in the current season. He has been the club’s best-performing player in the league campaign.
Despite that, some other Celtic fans also expressed their annoyance with the Scotsman.

A lot of these Celtic fans believe that Christie doesn’t want to be at the club and he isn’t looking to sign a new deal at Parkhead.
While Christie has previously stated that he’s held informal talks about signing a new deal, his father has said that the midfielder is someone who can play at Premier League level and he has ‘no doubt’ that other clubs will be looking at him. He was also linked with a move to Nice.
This clearly shows why fans believe that Christie wants to move away from the club and it is easy to understand why they are angry.
