Many Celtic fans have been talking about a transfer news update involving Andrew Gutman that recently emerged on social media.

Gutman, 24, was loaned out to American club FC Cincinnati for the 2019/20 campaign and his loan stint there ends in December. FC Cincinnati have now confirmed that they are in talks with Gutman in an attempt to keep the American at the club for the next MLS season.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

This update involving the Celtic left-back emerged on social media and it caught the attention of many Celtic supporters, who made their opinions clear about the 24-year-old.

One fan even wants to see the back of Neil Lennon and appears to have placed some of the blame on his shoulders for not incorporating him into his plans at Parkhead, despite Brendan Rodgers signing the player and his lack of appearances for the Scottish champions mainly being down to work permit issues.

Has Gutman been a poor signing for Celtic?

Gutman joined Celtic on a free transfer after his exit from Indiana Hoosiers. In February 2019, he was loaned out to Charlotte Independence and in August of the same year, he was loaned to Cincinnati (as per Transfermarkt).

The Illinois-born left-back is yet to make a single first-team appearance for the Bhoys, but he did make 22 appearances in all competitions for Cincinnati last season (as per Transfermarkt). Some other Celtic fans also began talking about the update involving Gutman.

These Celtic fans clearly have a negative opinion about the 24-year-old defender and one fan even described him as a ‘stupid signing’ for the Bhoys.

As things stand, the Hoops have Diego Laxalt and Greg Taylor as their out-and-out left-back options. Jeremie Frimpong can also play there, as can youngster Luca Connell (as per Transfermarkt). So Celtic clearly have a number of options in that position already and because of that, it may make sense to let go of Gutman.
