Celtic pundit Lawrence Connolly has recently made a claim about whether Celtic need to do any business in the January transfer window.

Connolly was a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. One topic of discussion was whether Celtic need to do any business in January and Connolly believes that the club isn’t in any need of signing players right now.

Celtic had signed three players on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window. This included David Turnbull, Albian Ajeti and Vasilis Barkas. They also signed Shane Duffy, Diego Laxalt and Mohamed Elyounoussi on loan (as per Transfermarkt).

Connolly believes that Celtic already have the players that can help them win the Premiership this season.

He said: “So as we said just now, do we need to strengthen in January? Well, I don’t think so. We’ve definitely got the personnel to win the league, we just need to get them playing as a team. We’ve got between now and I suppose the transfer window to prove that we can hopefully go on and win every game, get us a fourth treble in a row, back to top of the league and then [decide in] January, are you really looking to strengthen then?”

TIF Thoughts on Connolly’s comments regarding the January transfer window…

Celtic have been linked with a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson and it has been reported that they might be able to sign target Alfie Doughty for a bargain fee in January. Elsewhere, Celtic target Ben Davies has reportedly been offered a new contract by Preston North End.

So it is unclear whether the Hoops might take a dip in the market in January but since they spent as much as £11.43 million in the summer, it might be unlikely that they spend some more money in January.
