Celtic pundit Kevin Graham has criticised the body language of Jeremie Frimpong and Nir Bitton.

Graham was a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. Graham talked about many things about the club’s recent 2-2 draw against Hibernian and he had scathing criticism for the body language of Frimpong and Bitton when Hibs were taking a penalty.

The Hoops had gone 2-0 down in the 59th minute. Kevin Nisbet had scored the second goal but he had initially missed a penalty. The rebound was bundled in by Jamie Murphy. Celtic scored their penalty, as Odsonne Edouard found the net and Diego Laxalt made it 2-2 in stoppage time (as per BBC Sport).

Do you think the body language of Bitton and Frimpong was poor?

Graham criticised how Frimpong and Bitton were behaving while Nisbet was taking the penalty and he described their body language to be ‘utterly ridiculous’.

He said: “Look at the body language of Frimpong and Bitton at the penalty kick. There was an acceptancy that the keeper’s not going to save this. There was an acceptancy that we are already 1-0 down. That is utterly ridiculous, for two professional football players to be standing on an 18-yard box [at] a penalty kick with their hands on their hips – as you said, we are not body language experts, but for me, that says a hell of a lot of what the culture’s like in that dressing room.”

TIF Thoughts on Graham’s comments regarding Bitton and Frimpong…

In the game against Hibs, only four Celtic players picked up lesser ratings than Frimpong. Only seven Hoops players picked up lesser ratings than Bitton (as per WhoScored).

This shows that their performances weren’t great. Having said that, Neil Lennon has already criticised the attitude of the players in that game and he had slammed their laziness in the outing as well (as per The Scottish Sun).

This clearly suggests that Lennon is aware of the problems that are creeping in and maybe, the body language of Bitton and Frimpong was an example of the poor attitude of the players at Celtic.
