Chris Hamill discussed the possibility of Celtic making a move for Queens Park Rangers winger Bright Osayi-Samuel during the latest edition of Football Daily’s Sunday Vibes

Osayi-Samuel has been linked with a move to Parkhead of late. His QPR contract is set to expire next summer and he could sign a pre-contract with the Glasgow club as soon as January.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

The London club had been prepared to sell Osayi-Samuel to Club Brugge for a reported fee of £4.7m last summer until he pulled out of the move, so with that and his current contract status in mind, perhaps it would seem that his future lies elsewhere, even though QPR boss Mark Warburton has claimed that contract talks between the 22-year-old Nigerian winger and his current club are “moving the right way.”

Amid links to the Hoops, here is what Hamill had to say about Osayi-Samuel during this recent edition of Football Daily’s Sunday Vibes:

“Bright Samuel from QPR – dribble monster – could be a good James Forrest replacement on the right-hand side for Celtic. QPR were willing to let him go in the summer, I think, for around £4-5m and that for me was a little bit preposterous because I think you could add real value to this guy at 22 years old.

“One of the outstanding progressors of the ball in the Championship – I think if he has another two years like he did last year, he’ll be worth triple that in 18 months or so. I think he is well worth a look.”

Would Osayi-Samuel be a good signing for Celtic?

TIF Thoughts on what Hamill had to say about Osayi-Samuel…

Osayi-Samuel has made just two direct goal contributions for QPR in his 11 appearances for Warburton’s side in all competitions this term.

However, he managed to make 15 goal contributions in 40 appearances in all competitions last season, including nine assists – making him QPR’s top assist provider for the 2019/20 campaign.

Perhaps Osayi-Samuel’s contract status and the fact he was close to leaving QPR in the summer has unsettled him somewhat and as a result, his performances this term haven’t lived up to the bar he set last season but if Celtic feel he could reproduce the form he showed in the 2019/20 campaign if he were to move to Parkhead, then perhaps he does represent a potentially good transfer target for them, especially as Forrest is currently their only out-and-out right midfielder/right-winger and Osayi-Samuel mainly plays as a right-winger.
