Celtic pundit Paul John Dykes has recently criticised the performance of Albian Ajeti in the club’s defeat to Ross County.

Dykes was hosting the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys.

One topic of discussion was the club’s loss to Ross County in the Scottish League Cup. Dykes believes that Ajeti’s performance was “absolutely dreadful” against Ross County.

Ajeti joined Celtic from West Ham United in the summer transfer window for a fee of £4.5 million. The Swiss striker joined the Hoops after the move had initially stalled.

He started for the club against Ross County and failed to score, as the opposition picked up a 2-0 win. He is currently valued at £4.32m.

Dykes aired his criticism for the striker and questioned his commitment towards the club as well.

He said: “Well, you look at the fact that nothing works – nothing works. Neil Lennon has tried to refresh the side, we brought in six new players.

“You’re talking about the Ross County forward, we brought in a £5 million international player from the EPL and his performance today was dreadful – absolutely dreadful.

“Does he want it enough? Does he care about the record that obviously means a lot to us?”

TIF Thoughts on Dykes’ comments regarding Ajeti…

While Ajeti didn’t score for the Bhoys on Sunday and he was substituted in the second half of the game, the striker has already scored five times in the Premiership for Celtic this season. He also has two league assists in the bag (As per Transfermarkt).

This shows that he hasn’t had a terrible season by any means but having said that, his last league goal for the club came back in September against Hibernian.

That might be a reflection of the fact that he’s not been in form over the last couple of months and he needs to change things around soon.
