Celtic podcaster Colin Watt has recently made a claim about whether Neil Lennon will resign from his post at the club or not.

Watt was a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. One topic of discussion was Lennon and whether he’d voluntarily resign from his managerial post. Watt said that he doesn’t see it happening and he would have to be sacked.

Lennon’s Celtic fell to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Sparta Prague on Thursday and as a result, they got knocked out of the Europa League as well. Recently, Celtic fan club, the Green Brigade, unveiled a banner outside Parkhead demanding the exit of Lennon.

Do you think Neil Lennon can resign?

Watt feels that Lennon doesn’t think he is out of his depth at Celtic and won’t walk out on the club of his own accord. He said: “I don’t see him taking that decision. I don’t think he personally thinks that he’s out of his depth. And I can understand why he thinks he doesn’t think he is out of his depth because he probably has the most belief in himself. He believes that he can do it, which is a great characteristic to have when you’re not actually out of your depth in the situation that he’s in.

“He’s living the dream, he’s managing his boyhood heroes. There’s no chance that he would want to step down. I think he’s going to have to be removed from this post.”

TIF Thoughts on Watt’s comments regarding Neil Lennon…

It has already been reported that Lennon won’t voluntarily walk away from his position and he maintains the backing of the club too.

Following Celtic’s loss to Sparta Prague, Lennon said that despite the club’s defeat, he is ‘confident’ that he can turn things around at Parkhead. He feels that he has been in similar situations as a manager and as a player and there is ‘no reason’ to believe that things can still improve.

This clearly suggests that Lennon is still pretty confident about his abilities and it also proves that it seems highly unlikely that he leaves the club on his own.
