Celtic pundit Kevin Graham has recently made a claim about Albian Ajeti ahead of the club’s Premiership game against Hibernian.

Graham was a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. One topic of discussion was the club’s upcoming league game against Hibs. Graham believes that Ajeti should start the game as it would be ‘harsh’ to drop him.

Ajeti, 23, joined Celtic from West Ham United in the summer for a fee of £4.5 million. He has already scored five Premiership goals this season while also picking up two assists.

Graham praised Ajeti and he feels that his work rate in the Hoops’ most recent league outing against Motherwell was ‘fantastic’.

He said: “Playing Eddy, I think, would be harsh on Ajeti after his performance at Fir Park. I think that would be really harsh to drop him because he’d done well at Fir Park. His work rate was fantastic. He showed more hunger – he was like a wee buzz bomb.

“He’s got a decent attitude and I think if you’re going on the previous game, we’ve got to manage Eddy back.”

TIF Thoughts on Graham’s comments regarding Ajeti…

Ajeti picked up an assist against Motherwell in Celtic’s previous game and has started his Premiership career very well in a goalscoring sense (as per Transfermarkt).

Having said that, Edouard scored twice for France Under-21s against Switzerland Under-21s recently. That might be a sign of the striker getting back to form, having yet to score for his club since his return to action following a bout of illness.

So because of Ajeti’s assist against Motherwell and Edouard’s goals for the France Under-21s side, Neil Lennon may well have a case to play both Edouard and Ajeti in the game against Hibs.
