Celtic pundit Jim Orr believes that Neil Lennon may not be communicating with some of the players at the club amid the club’s poor start to the season.

Orr appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. The panel talked about what has been going wrong at Parkhead this season and Orr said that he’s heard stories about the fact that Lennon isn’t talking to some of the players at the club.

Lennon has already questioned the attitude of the team’s players. Following the club’s first 4-1 loss to Sparta Prague, he had even lamented the ‘lack of hunger and application’ of the club’s players. He also talked about a potential culture change at the club following that loss.

Do you think Neil Lennon has stopped talking to some of the Celtic players?

Orr feels that there are issues between the Celtic players and the manager. He said: “This year, as you’ve said before, we’ve all become experts in body language. We think there are some issues between some of the players and the manager, and we’ve heard some stories that maybe the manager has not been talking to some of the players for a wee while. You look at the body language between the manager and John Kennedy and you think, ‘is that working?'”

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

TIF Thoughts on Orr’s comments about Lennon not talking to some of his players…

Following Celtic’s 2-2 draw against Hibernian, Lennon had criticised Scott Brown for making an error in the game. Earlier this year, he had publicly criticised Leigh Griffiths for having turned up for training in an overweight condition. He has also criticised Odsonne Edouard this season.

This shows that while he hasn’t been completely happy with some of the players in the team, it isn’t possible to know if he doesn’t speak to some of his players or not. His general unhappiness with the team has been pretty clear to see and it suggests that he wants them to do more. So if the players start performing at their best again, the gap between the Hoops and the Gers could still reduce in the Premiership table and maybe, their relationship with Lennon will get better too.
