Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

One of the managers he talked about was Neil Lennon after being asked if he could see Celtic sacking the Northern Irishman.

Celtic are currently hunting a 10th league title in a row but are nine points behind Rangers and are also bottom of their Europa League group.

This led McGarry to discuss Lennon’s future, and he revealed that he thinks the Celtic boss is safe for now because he understands why reaching a historic 10th league title in a row is so important.

He said: “I did speak to a couple of people at Celtic in order to research this to be able to answer the question.

“The information I received was that the difficulty right now is one of a unique quality, and that is that Celtic are in this particular bubble of going for 10 in a row.

“To change the manager into the season would be to try and find someone who understood not just the nature of Scottish football, but the culture of the whole nine in a row, ten in a row-type rivalry between Rangers and Celtic.

“At the moment, Neil Lennon is someone who certainly has a handle on that and knows exactly what it means.”

Do you think Celtic should sack Lennon?

TIF Thoughts on Lennon and McGarry’s view on him…

The Bhoys are currently looking for a 10th Premiership title in a row, and if they did achieve this feat, then they would be making history.

So, it is clear how important this particular season is for Celtic, while McGarry’s information suggests that understanding that importance is not a common trait amongst would-be Lennon successors despite the club’s poor form.

If that is indeed the case, it appears Lennon is safe for now, but you would think that if he doesn’t close that gap to the Gers, then there could be problems for him later down the line.

Therefore, we will have to see if Lennon can turn around this bad start and help Celtic achieve a 10th consecutive league title.
