The Athletic’s Wolverhampton Wanderers correspondent Tim Spiers has recently discussed some “good news” regarding the Old Gold’s owners, Fosun.

During the summer of 2016, the Molineux outfit was taken over by the Chinese conglomerate Fosun International (per BBC).

Fosun paid the club’s previous owner Steve Morgan a fee somewhere in the region of £45m to seal 100% of the Old Gold’s shares and assets.

The medical arm of Fosun, Fosun Pharma, has recently been at the ‘forefront‘ of a project to find a vaccine for the current viral pandemic and has partnered with Pfizer and German vaccine maker BioNTech.

In recent days, it has been reported that pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has developed a vaccine which is 90% effective to help combat the pandemic (per Express and Star).

So, during the latest episode of The Athletic’s The Molineinx View podcast, Spiers discussed this latest development in the project to find a vaccine.

To kick off this quiz on Romain Saiss, what squad number does the defensive midfielder currently wear for the Old Gold?

He said: “Good news after a very strange few months. Fosun have been busy sorting out a few bits and bobs here and there and they’ve saved the world, so no big deal.

“Wolves fans would probably prefer a bit of a Molineux expansion, but no,” he explained jovially.

“So, Fosun partnered with Pfizer, as they tweeted a couple of months ago, and they are the firm that’s now produced this vaccine that I’m sure everyone’s been reading about in the past 24 hours.

“They sorted out [Pedro] Neto’s new contract last week and they’ve saved the world this week. What’s next?”

While the journalist was clearly in a good-humoured mood, it is great to see that Fosun has helped with something which could potentially change the situation with the viral outbreak.
