To kick off this quiz on Conor Coady, what shirt number does the Englishman currently wear for the Old Gold?

One of the topics that came up in the episode was Conor Coady, and Spiers was happy to gush over the form of the Wolves captain.

Coady has been in decent form for the Old Gold this season, averaging a 6.72 rating from his seven league appearances so far, and he turned in an impressive display of 7.74 against Crystal Palace last Friday.

This led Spiers to gush over the form of Coady.

It seems as if Spiers thinks that Coady has become a better player this season, and he believes that is because of his England call-up.

He said: “Defensively he was excellent, made a couple of really important clearances, that’s another speciality of his.

“He looks like he has grown in stature, he’s never been short of confidence, never been short of leadership ability or maturity, but something’s different about him.

“He looks even more authoritative in a football sense, and that’s got to be down to this England recognition.”

Do you think that Coady has improved?

TIF Thoughts on Coady and Spiers’ view on him…

The former Liverpool man was called up to the England squad earlier this season, and he has since made three appearances for his country and scored one goal.

So you can see why Spiers might think that has helped Coady become more authoritative, though his average rating wouldn’t suggest that he is doing anything special to warrant the praise.

Coady has played his part in a Wolves side that have kept four clean sheets in the league this season and are currently sitting in sixth in the Premier League.

Now considering Coady is Wolves’ 11th-highest-rated player, you could say that he hasn’t played a big part in these results.

It is interesting to hear that Spiers thinks that Coady has grown as a player because of his England recognition, but looking at his form this season, we think it could be argued that Coady is not actually playing that well.
