West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has recently provided an update regarding any possible takeovers of the Hammers.

In January 2010, David Gold and David Sullivan took over the Hammers after purchasing 50% of the club with an option to acquire the remaining 50% (per The Guardian).

Gold and Sullivan have since taken their holding of West Ham to above the 85% mark (per Football.london).

However, the owners and supporters have shared a somewhat difficult relationship in recent years with protest having taken place and pressure put on Gold and Sullivan to sell the club.

During the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee discussed any potential news regarding a takeover of the London Stadium outfit.

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

He said: “People are saying, ‘What’s happening with the takeover bids?’ Well, there is exactly what I told you was happening at the time, there isn’t a takeover bid at the moment.

“There is interest in the club, but there is no official bid submitted.”

The in-the-know podcaster went on to explain: “Yes, there [are] interested parties, so there’s an element of truth to what [those who are reporting rumours are] saying.

“But to say that the takeover bid is coming this year… How, realistically, with it being November 4th today, can the takeover bid be completed by the end of December and [us] not to know anything about it at this point?”

TIF Thoughts on what @ExWHUemployee said about a possible takeover…

As can be seen in what the podcaster had to say, he believes that there is interest in buying the Irons, however, no official bids have been made and nothing is likely to be completed before the turn of the year.

Do you think there has been any bid made to purchase West Ham?

Yes, anything is possible

Yes, anything is possible

No, there is nothing

No, there is nothing

So, it seems as though those West Ham fans who would like to see Gold and Sullivan leave the club will just have to continue waiting for an interested party to make an official bid.
