Speaking recently on The West Ham Way Podcast, ExWHUemployee discussed the current situation of Felipe Anderson.

After moving to West Ham from Lazio in what was a £34.2 million deal back in the summer of 2018, Anderson has gone on to feature 72 times for the club, scoring 12 goals and providing 12 assists along the way.

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

However, after a 2019/20 campaign that saw the £22.5 million-rated 27-year-old make 25 Premier League appearances for the club, over which he scored just one goal and provided four assists, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.96/10, as well as two substitute appearances in the league at the start of the 2020/21 season, Anderson was sent on loan to Porto.

In his time in Portugal so far, the Brazilian has made two substitute appearances in Liga NOS, over which he has averaged a WhoScored match rating of 6.18 – ranking him as Porto’s fourth-worst performer in the league.

The winger was one subject of discussion on a recent episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, in which ExWHUemployee claimed that Anderson was in limbo between West Ham and Porto.

He said: “Regarding Anderson – he played alright at the weekend, I think, but Porto have not been that impressed with him, and West Ham don’t want to take him back. So, he’s in a bit of a limbo at the moment.”

Do you think Anderson should be given another chance at West Ham next season?

TIF Thoughts on ExWHUemployee’s comments regarding Felipe Anderson…

From ExWHUemployee’s comments, it is clear that the podcaster is of the belief that Anderson has no future at West Ham, and that, equally, Porto do not have any intention of making his loan deal a permanent move.

As such, it would seem that the winger will be returning to east London upon the expiry of his loan deal in Portugal next summer, where, unless West Ham can move him on over the summer transfer window, he will continue earning £85k per week until the expiry of his contract in the summer of 2022.
