West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has recently provided an injury update on the Hammers’ English attacker Michail Antonio.

During the Irons’ 1-1 draw with Manchester City in October, Antonio had opened the scoring for West Ham in the first half, however, was removed from the action early in the second (per BBC).

The substitution was due to a ‘niggling hamstring problem’ which had forced the 30-year-old forward off the pitch for two games on the bounce (per Daily Mail).

Following a scan, initial indications had been that the attacker would be out of action for ‘more than four weeks’, despite David Moyes hoping he would be back sooner (per TalkSPORT).

During the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee provided an injury update on all of West Ham’s injured players, including Antonio.

As can be seen in what the in-the-know podcaster had to say, he believes that there is a chance that the Englishman could be fit in time to feature against the Blades following the international break.

Is Michail Antonio currently the best player West Ham have got?

So far this season, Antonio has been West Ham’s best-performing player in the Premier League as he has picked up an impressive 7.25/10 average rating (per WhoScored).

To earn the rating, the £10.8m-rated frontman has scored three goals in six top-flight outings.

So, due to his impressive level of performances for the Hammers so far this term, it would appear that having Antonio back in contention for the clash with Sheffield United would be a boost for Moyes’ side.
