West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has provided an update on the latest regarding Michail Antonio’s hamstring injury.
In the Hammers’ 1-1 draw with Manchester City last month, the striker was removed early in the second half of the game after having opened the scoring (per BBC).
It was the second game in a row which the English striker had been forced off the pitch, which was due to a ‘niggling hamstring’ issue (per Daily Mail).
Following an initial scan, TalkSPORT claimed that the 30-year-old frontman would be sidelined for ‘more than four weeks’.
During the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee provided an injury update on the Irons’ injured players and aired the latest on Antonio.
He said: “Antonio is going to face a fitness test on Friday to see whether he should be available for the Sheffield United game.
“I believe that the club think he’ll be on the bench, but they just want further confirmation which they’ll get, as I say, through that test.
“[Angelo] Ogbonna should be available as well.”
