West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has recently discussed the Hammers’ English centre-back Craig Dawson.

During the recent transfer window, the Irons secured the arrival of the 30-year-old defender on a season-long loan from Watford with an option to make the move permanent (per BBC).

Since his arrival, Dawson has not made a single appearance for David Moyes’ side in the Premier League (per Transfermarkt).

However, not only has the player not featured for West Ham, he has not been included in a matchday squad for the Irons yet either.

During the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, though, @ExWHUemployee claimed that the Englishman has been making a positive impression in training.

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

He said: “The need to sign a centre-back isn’t as great [now] because you’ve got [Issa] Diop and Dawson that can’t get in the team.

“You can’t really say much about Dawson, although I have heard that he is very popular as well. Apparently, the players really like him and they think he’s really good as well.

“They’ve said he’s been a bit of a rock in training.”

TIF Thoughts on what @ExWHUemployee said about Craig Dawson…

As can be seen in what the in-the-know podcaster had to say, he has “heard” that the centre-back has been making a positive impression on the squad in training.

Would you like to see Craig Dawson play some first-team football for West Ham soon?

No, he's not good enough

Yes, he's a solid player

Yes, he's a solid player

While Dawson has not appeared for West Ham yet, he is a player with a lot of Premier League experience having made 182 appearances in the top flight during his career.

In those games, he has also managed to bag a respectable tally of 14 goals and provide three assists for teammates.

However, so far this season, he has made just one appearance and that came in the Carabao Cup for Watford back in September, so, he will likely be lacking in match fitness.

Hopefully, for Dawson, though, he is given a first-team opportunity by Moyes if he is impressing in training.
