West Bromwich Albion podcaster Chris Lepkowski has been sharing his thoughts on Baggies boss Slaven Bilic and his future at the Midlands club.

This comes after Lepkowski recently co-hosted the latest episode of West Brom-themed podcast The Liquidator where he spoke about a number of topics concerning the club.

How well do you remember the action from the opening weekend of the Premier League? - 1. Who scored the first goal of the season?

On the topic of Bilic and his future as West Brom’s manager, Lepkowski had this to say on the matter.

He said: “I mentioned this on social media after the game [against Fulham] that we’re now entering that territory where [the] board of directors start looking at results, and I have to say Bilic’s results don’t stack up particularly well.

“I think it’s no wins now in 11 matches in the league if you take into account the end of last season, and we’ve had managers sacked for better runs than that, so it’s going to be an interesting period now and somehow, from somewhere, Bilic needs to get a result if he even makes the next game because right now – I’m not even convinced he necessarily will be our manager for much longer, it just has a very ominous feel about it all.”

As Lepkowski mentioned in the podcast, West Brom recently fell to a 2-0 defeat to Fulham on Monday night, leaving the Baggies without a win in their first seven Premier League games.

Bilic was appointed as West Brom’s manager in July 2019. Since then, the 52-year-old has taken charge of 59 matches with the Midlands club in which they have won 25, drawn 20 and lost 14 (per Transfermarkt). His current deal at the club is set to expire at the end of June 2021.

TIF Thoughts on Chris Lepkowski’s comments on Bilic…

It’s a shame that Lepkowski thinks Bilic’s job at West Brom is under scrutiny now and he could be in danger of being sacked. However, given how the club have failed to win a game in the league yet, it’s understandable why this could be the case.

In our view, Bilic should be given the entire season to give him a fair chance of having a successful season with West Brom, as he was the man to earn them promotion and it is still early days in the season, so perhaps if they are able to win a game they will be able to turn their form around.
