How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

On the topic of Alli, who has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent months, Thomlinson had this to say on the matter and what potential fee the north London club could look to get for the Englishman if they were to sell him.

He said: “Well, especially because Harry Kane has this season found that ability to drop a little bit deeper, maybe you don’t need the second striker as much, because he’s almost playing like a second striker mixed with a striker. Then [Giovani] Lo Celso can play there, [Tanguy] Ndombele can play a little bit higher, [Steven] Bergwijn can play in there. I would be tempted [to sell Alli] but I really, really rate Dele Alli.

“I think it would be one of those sales, you’d [do] through gritted teeth, because you need the money, you don’t want to sell such a talented asset. I’d be looking at about £75 million, but I think they’d be optimistic to think they could get that. I think a buying club would value him closer to £50 million.”

Spurs signed the 24-year-old back in February 2015 from MK Dons for a fee of £5.97 million. Overall, the midfielder has made a total of 228 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions, in which he has racked up a total of 63 goals and 55 assists.

However, so far this season, Alli, who is currently valued at £46.8 million, has only made two appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side in the Premier League and left out of the squad in their other five league matches (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Joe Thomlinson’s comments on a potential transfer fee for Alli…

Given how Alli has only made two league appearances for Spurs so far this season, it’s clear to see why a potential transfer away from Tottenham is being spoken about at this moment in time.

With Transfermarkt currently valuing Alli at £46.8 million, it’s easy to see why Thomlinson thinks a potential transfer fee of £75 million for Alli would be optimistic for the club to ask for.

Considering the January transfer window is on the near horizon, it’ll be interesting to see if any club decides to come in for Alli and whether Spurs would let him go or not.

In our view, if Alli isn’t going to be playing regularly for Spurs this season, it may be in his best interests to move to another club where he can get regular first-team minutes.
