A lot of international fans have criticised Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier for his performance in England’s UEFA Nations League clash with Belgium on Sunday evening.
Dier has played in the defensive midfield position more often than he’s played in any other position thus far in his club career and his international career but all 10 of his appearances for Spurs this season have come in the centre-back position and this is where he started for England in their meeting with Belgium on Sunday evening.
However, the 26-year-old played a role in Belgium scoring the first goal of this game, as the £19.8m-rated Tottenham player’s ‘risky pass’ resulted in a Belgium attack which led to Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans breaking the deadlock in the 10th minute.
So, how did these international fans react to Dier’s performance for England versus Belgium?
Bar hazard this is their best team. U could make 5/6 changes to our side. Desperate for decent centre backs though, dier is woeful.

Nice watching Dier play against top level opposition, reminds me of the certainty that is Spurs will never win the league with him at CB

Dier in a back 3 is also poor

Dier was slated on Twitter by plenty of international fans for his performance versus Belgium.
Eric Dier is honestly one of the worst England internationals ever. So so bad.

Do you agree with these fans' comments on Dier?
YES
NO

Dier is dire and Walker needs to walk

Some fans specifically criticised the Spurs man for the role that he played in Tielemans scoring the opening goal of this fixture for Belgium.
Dier is the worst one, he’s genuinely pathetic, bullied by Lukaku all game, at fault for the first goal too

Just can’t see how Dier is a regular starter in the #eng team though, let alone at CB. Massive problem for me. Neither offers enough defensively nor as ball player. Poor pass into a dangerous area cost the first goal. Can’t afford those basic mistakes at the highest level.

So, judging by these tweets, it certainly seems as though Dier’s performance for England versus Belgium didn’t go down well with many international fans.
