A lot of international fans have criticised Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier for his performance in England’s UEFA Nations League clash with Belgium on Sunday evening.

Dier has played in the defensive midfield position more often than he’s played in any other position thus far in his club career and his international career but all 10 of his appearances for Spurs this season have come in the centre-back position and this is where he started for England in their meeting with Belgium on Sunday evening.

However, the 26-year-old played a role in Belgium scoring the first goal of this game, as the £19.8m-rated Tottenham player’s ‘risky pass’ resulted in a Belgium attack which led to Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans breaking the deadlock in the 10th minute.
