Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of Ben Davies in the Europa League fixture against Ludogorets.
Having beaten LASK 3-0 in their first Europa League group game and lost 1-0 against Royal Antwerp in their second, Spurs travelled to Bulgaria hoping to bounce back with a victory in their aspirations of topping Group J. Despite picking up all three points with a 3-1 win, that didn’t stop some Spurs fans from taking to Twitter to be negative about the performance of Ben Davies.
The left-back now has significant competition for his place at the North London club, following their summer signing of Sergio Reguilon, but with the Spanish international out of this game ill, he was the man trusted to start by Jose Mourinho. Since joining from Swansea City in 2014, the defender has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for the Lilywhites judging by the tweets below, plenty of fans will be hoping he doesn’t make too many more.
Do you agree that Davies had a poor game?
No

Very solid half. Everyone been good apart from Davies. Should be 3 or 4-0 up by now. 1 more goal and get the main lads off.#THFC #COYS

Poor old Ben Davies is even out of his depth playing at a Bulgarian farmers market. Bless him

I swear on my life, I dont know how Winks and Davies still get in this team…
I’d get rid of Sissoko and Sanchez aswell …#THFC

Ben Davies is always the worst player on the pitch

Ben Davies is just saddening to watch man. I can’t believe people thought right back was more important to improve than left back at the start of our summer window

As can be seen in these tweets, the Spurs fans were less than happy with Davies’ performance, and they will no doubt be hoping to have Reguilon back fit for their next Premier League fixture against West Brom.
