Speaking recently on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano discussed the contract situation of Tottenham Hotspur forward, Son Heung-min.

Since moving to Spurs from Bayer 04 Leverkusen in what was a £27 million deal back in 2015, Son has gone on to feature 243 times for the club, scoring 96 goals and providing 52 assists along the way, prior to the club’s fixture against Ludogorets Razgrad on Thursday.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

So far this season, the £67.5 million-rated 28-year-old has highly impressed over his nine Premier League appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side, scoring nine goals, providing two assists and averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.78 – ranking him as the club’s third-best performer in the top flight.

As a result of his impressive form, there has been talk in the press of Tottenham offering the South Korean a new deal at the club, despite the fact his current deal in north London is set to expire in the summer of 2023.

The contract situation of Son was one topic of conversation on a recent episode of the Here We Go podcast, in which Romano shed some light on the progress of the talks.

He said: “The priority is for Son. They are starting to talk with the agents of Son, he changed his agency, he’s now with Base Soccer, a fantastic agency; they have a great relationship with Tottenham.

“So, I think they will have no big problems to extend the contract of Son, because the player is so happy and also because this is a fantastic moment to support Tottenham in general and for Jose Mourinho. They are back where they wanted.”

TIF Thoughts on Fabrizio Romano’s comments regarding Son Heung-min…

From Romano’s comments, it is clear that the journalist is of the belief that Spurs will encounter very little problems in their contract discussions with Son, as the player is delighted with life at the club.

And, in our opinion, this news would also appear to be great for fans of the club, considering how impressive the 28-year-old has been since joining Spurs back in 2015, and particularly this season, with a new deal for the forward looking likely to keep him playing his football in north London for the foreseeable future.
