Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Harry Winks could ‘assess his future’ in January if he continues to be left on the bench.

According to the report by The Telegraph, Winks, who featured in both of England’s recent fixtures against the Republic of Ireland and Belgium, could ‘look at his circumstances’ in January should he continue to be left out of Jose Mourinho’s team.

The midfielder has made nine appearances in total for Spurs this season, with four of these coming in the Premier League. However, the 24-year-old has not featured in any of Tottenham’s last three league fixtures, being an unused substitute in the victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, and being left out of the matchday squad altogether for the fixtures against Burnley and West Bromwich Albion.

However, with summer signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg often partnering Moussa Sissoko in the middle of the park, in addition to the more regular inclusion of Tanguy Ndombele in the midfield, it would appear that Winks has fallen down the pecking order somewhat at Spurs.

All in all, it would appear the vast majority of these Spurs fans would not overly miss Winks should he indeed go on to leave the club in January, with some stating their belief that the £25.2 million-rated midfielder is nothing more than a squad player, while others claimed that Tottenham youth player Alfie Devine is a better option than Winks.
