A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Spurs news Twitter account @HotspurRelated in which they relayed some news that has been reported by ESPN, regarding Liverpool’s interest in signing alleged Spurs transfer target Milan Skriniar.

ESPN’s claims, which originally emerged last week, suggested that Tottenham came close to signing the Slovak centre-back in October and while Lilywhites manager Jose Mourinho is allegedly still interested in signing the 25-year-old, the reigning Premier League champions are also now said to be targeting the £45m-rated man.

So, how did these Tottenham Hotspur fans react to this reported claim on Skriniar?

ESPN’s report sharing this news stated that the Reds’ interest in Skriniar ‘could complicate the picture’ for Tottenham regarding their chances of signing the centre-back and plenty of the Lilywhites fans who replied to @HotspurRelated’s tweet seemed to agree with that claim, as they shared some concern about their club’s chances of securing Skriniar’s signature in response to this post.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

However, not all of the reactions to this tweet were negative. One particular Spurs supporter replied to this post to say that they don’t even think their club needs to sign another centre-back, while another Tottenham fan claimed that the north London club could sign ‘better options for cheaper than Skriniar.’

Are you worried about Spurs' chances of signing Skriniar?

Judging by these Tottenham fans’ replies to this post, while some Spurs supporters don’t seem overly concerned about this news, it certainly seems as though the majority of Lilywhites supporters are worried about how Liverpool’s alleged interest might hurt their chances of signing Skriniar.

It certainly seems the case that Liverpool’s status as Premier League holders and recent European champions (at Tottenham’s expense, of course) – and perhaps the Reds’ current lack of first-team centre-back options – would make them a more desirable destination for Skriniar in the eyes of several Spurs fans.
