Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have flocked to social media in order to respond to a post from @thespursweb in which they shared some images of Erik Lamela training, originally posted via the player’s Instagram account.
In his post, the 28-year-old revealed he has a ‘problem’ with his foot and will need to stay ‘off the field for a short time’ before he gets back to full fitness. So far this season, Lamela has made 10 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites, contributing two goals (as per Transfermarkt).
How did the Spurs fans react to the news Lamela will be unavailable to Jose Mourinho for a period of time?
I was actually surprised that he was available for this long tbh

It’s clear from the above responses that many of these supporters have been left frustrated by the fact the Argentine has picked up another issue. During his time at Spurs, Lamela has missed no fewer than 97 games through injury and therefore the sarcasm in some of the replies is understandable.
When Lamela has played in the Premier League this season, his displays have earned him a solid average performance rating of 6.73/10 (as per WhoScored). In our view, the fact that when he does play, he tends to perform to a decent standard only adds to the frustration felt by the club’s faithful.
