Image for Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to Gareth Bale image

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on Twitter after an image of Spurs winger Gareth Bale emerged.

This comes after Spurs podcast Twitter page @LastWordOnSpurs shared a post on their page that contained the image of Bale with an ice pack on his right ankle after coming off the pitch during Spurs’ 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

The page also added that the “procedure is designed to treat swelling” but the “extent of the injury remains unclear at this stage.”

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans who were quick to share their thoughts on the matter.

So, what did these Spurs fans make of this post about Gareth Bale’s potential injury?

Bale started the game against West Brom but was substituted in the second half. The Welshman’s performance in the game earned himself a match rating of 6.7/10 (per WhoScored).

Other Spurs fans were replying to this post claiming that taking Bale off and giving him an ice pack was a ploy from Jose Mourinho so the winger would appear to be injured and not be able to play for Wales during their upcoming international matches.

Do you think Bale is injured or is it just a ploy from Mourinho?

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that they think Bale’s suspected injury is not a serious one and is just a plan from Mourinho to make him look like he won’t be available to play for Wales during the international break.

Given how Mourinho has called for the Wales medical team to be careful with Bale while he’s away on international duty, it’s clear to see why these Spurs fans may have come to this conclusion after seeing this image of the winger.

Moving forward, it’ll be interesting to see if Bale makes an appearance for Wales in any of their upcoming games or whether he will be ruled out of them through injury.
