Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news concerning Toon manager Steve Bruce.
This comes after Newcastle-focused Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post that contained an article from Chronicle Live which emerged on Saturday morning.
The article claimed that Newcastle’s hierarchy is ‘happy’ with the job that Bruce has done at the club so far this season ‘despite concerns of some supporters about the progress being made’ at the club under Bruce.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on the matter.
So, what did these Newcastle fans make of this post about Steve Bruce?
The hierarchy at Newcastle United are happy with the job being done by Steve Bruce. #nufc [Chronicle] https://t.co/vW0ZKr2fVY

No surprise. They don’t have to watch it every week and are not bothered about the club stagnating as it has over the last 13 years… Bruce is in the safest job in the premier league…under Ashley.

Are you happy with the work Steve Bruce has done so far this season?
Yes
No
How can they be happy with that football though

Bruce was appointed as Newcastle manager back in July 2019. Since then, Bruce has taken charge of 55 matches for Newcastle, in which they have won 20, drawn 15 and lost 20 (per Transfermarkt).
Sadly this doesn’t surprise me ?

Of course they are, its all about figures. If anyone cares any less about the actually performances its Ashley.

Newcastle’s latest Premier League match saw them beat Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton side 2-1 at St. James’ Park.
Obviously. They’re not in the bottom three and that’s all that matters to Mike Ashley’s NUFC. There’s no ambition or desire at all from the club or Bruce. Match made in heaven #NUFC https://t.co/EZNaZQenWm

Now that this post has been shared on social media, this paved the way for lots of Toon fans to have their say on the matter.
The hierarchy would be happy if we were playing in the 3rd division of English football. Ambitions zero!!!!!!

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that these Toon fans aren’t surprised that the Newcastle hierarchy are pleased by Bruce and what he has done with the team so far this season. However, this seems to be because the Toon fans think their club’s owners don’t seem to have much ambition for the team on the pitch.
