Many Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to a Twitter post from the Chronicle’s chief Newcastle writer Lee Ryder in which he shared the news Southampton’s Danny Ings has been ruled out of the meeting scheduled between the two clubs this coming weekend.
In seven Premier League appearances so far this season, the 28-year-old forward has already netted five times and provided his teammates with two assists (as per Transfermarkt) but having suffered an injury during last weekend’s fixture versus Aston Villa, he is now set to be sidelined for approximately a month.
How have these Newcastle supporters reacted to the news Danny Ings is unavailable for Southampton?
Never like to hear a player is injured.. But hey.. This is music to my ears!

It’s the ‘Bruce effect’. Injuries scuppered Everton and now its Southampton’s turn. ?

This is great if teams could keep getting their best players injured/suspended before they play us that’d be great

Steve Bruce must be like a witch or something with all the luck he has!
Everton had injury issues before we played them too, and did Son for sours not have to go off early against us?
His luck is outstanding!— MrMac (@Petermccarthy84) November 4, 2020

Steve Bruce and his luck ?

It’s clear from the above responses that these Newcastle supporters are now feeling a lot more confident going into the game versus Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side knowing the England striker has been ruled out. Last weekend, Steve Bruce’s side defeated a depleted Everton side and so you could argue when it comes to injuries, the Toon have struck a bit of luck.
