A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from Mark Douglas that provides his view on the latest developments in the takeover saga.
The Chronicle reporter tweeted after Newcastle released a statement confirming that their legal action against the Premier League was ongoing over the failed takeover by PCP Capital Partners, PIF and the Reuben brothers, which was withdrawn in July.
Douglas claimed that the fact the consortium are still willing to buy Newcastle and that Mike Ashley is determined to sell the club was never really up for debate and that legal pressure was always the next stage.
So, what did these Toon fans think of this tweet from Douglas on the takeover?
This post has drawn the attention of many Toon fans, who are confident that this takeover will happen now.
Surely this is going to happen now. So much pressure from a lot of corners on the league to approve this.

This will get sorted out of court, PL will not open up under oath, I think they’ll cave.

Do you think this takeover will happen?
Yes, it will now
No, this will still fail
Others used this post as a chance to ask Douglas what could happen next.
You are going to hate this question but any sort of timeframe?

What’s your ‘guess’ the next step will be ?

The Premier League now face two legal challenges over the proposed takeover: one from the club and then another from Newcastle Consortium Supporters Limited.
There have also been reports that if the legal challenge is successful, the consortium will bid again and that the government is also trying to get this deal through.
So, it is unclear what will happen next, but it does feel like we are getting closer to a conclusion to this saga one way or another.
