Do you think Newcastle should part ways with Dummett?

Dummett last played for the Magpies in January 2020 against Wolves, but he was taken off in that game because of a tendon injury. As a result of that, he was ruled out for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign (as per the Chronicle).

The Welshman had featured for the Newcastle Under-23s against the Fulham Under-23s side last month and even played against Leeds United’s Under-23s side earlier this month (as per Transfermarkt).

Some other Toon fans also reacted to the latest update involving the 29-year-old defender.

Some Newcastle fans are frustrated about Dummett’s injuries and others want the club to part ways with the player.

Apart from Dummett, Newcastle have a total of four out-and-out options for the centre-back role. So the 29-year-old does add depth to the backline and before sustaining the injury last season, he was a regular part of the club’s first-team. He can play at centre-back and at left-back.

Because of all that, he might still be a useful part of the side. So selling Dummett doesn’t make sense for Newcastle.
