A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Lee Ryder that follows the Toon’s recent statement that claimed the club are in an ongoing legal battle with the Premier League over the proposed takeover of the club by PCP Capital Partners, PIF and the Reuben brothers that was withdrawn in July.
Earlier this week, the Premier League revealed that Newcastle were in the middle of a legal battle with them, which then led to the club confirming what the league said.
Ryder’s tweet contains the latest on the Premier League’s response to Newcastle’s statement, and it appears as if they declined the chance to comment, which has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who are not surprised.
So, what did these Newcastle fans think of the Premier League’s latest action?
What a surprise! pic.twitter.com/2U5XbdcptL

There’s a surprise, but they will release documents to journalists.

Imagine my shock

Are you surprised by the Premier League's response?
No, this is what they do
Yes, they should say something
While the takeover was originally being looked at by the Premier League, they refused to comment on the process when asked, so that could explain why these Newcastle fans are not surprised at this response from them.
Others, though, have used this tweet to criticise the Premier League for leaking information instead.
I’m sure it will leak pic.twitter.com/KmY8bb3vaD

They’d rather leak information to their cronies in Qatar and the press first. Can deny any involvement then.

They have to have it approved by Qatar, the top 6, Barclays and Bein sports first man Lee it takes time to be that corrupt!

It is unclear what the next steps in this takeover are, but the consortium does intend to bid again if the legal challenge is successful, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
For now, though, many Toon fans are happy to just insult the Premier League over their handling of this whole situation.
