Starting with an easy one, what number does Wilson wear for Newcastle?

One of the topics that he spent some time on was the kit deal with Castore rumoured to be starting at the beginning of next season.

Reports emerged in October that the Toon would end their deal with Puma and make Castore their new kit manufacturer, but it seems that the deal has not been signed off yet though the signs are looking positive for that deal to eventually be confirmed.

Douglas said: “I have been told by a couple of different people in the interim period that there is definitely substance to this story.

“[I am] not sure I have quite got it buttoned down yet, so I wouldn’t rule out somebody else coming in.

“But it does look like it’s going to be Castore next year.”

TIF Thoughts on the Castore deal and Douglas’ thoughts on it…

The deal for Castore to become the Toon’s new kit manufacturer is said to be worth £5m a year, which compared to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, is nothing.

As well as this, there have been problems with Castore’s Rangers shirts, with many Gers fans unhappy at the quality of the product.

So, it looks like the deal is not great from a financial perspective, and if the kits are anything like the Rangers ones, then the quality may not be too impressive, either.

Douglas seems to suggest that someone else could come in and seal a deal with the Toon, so we think that Newcastle should hold out and wait for another manufacturer who could provide better quality kits and possibly a better financial deal for the Toon as well.
